Step into the gentle yet fierce energy of Quan Yin, the bodhisattva of compassion, mercy, and loving-kindness. In this episode, we explore her rich symbolism, her mythic vow to hear the cries of the world, and how patriarchal systems have historically softened her power. I share how working with her in metta meditations helped me receive compassion when I wasn’t ready to give it to myself. Plus, a guided ritual to embody her energy in your daily life.

Ritual:

  1. Find a quiet space and take deep, grounding breaths.

  2. Visualize a soft, glowing light in your chest expanding with each inhale—your compassionate energy.

  3. Bring to mind someone—or yourself—who needs love, care, or understanding. Send the light to them.

  4. Extend the light further: friends, community, the world. Let it flow without expectation.

  5. Place your hands over your heart and say: “I am a vessel of compassion. I hear the cries of the world. I give mercy without losing myself.”
